Successfully Marketing Your 4-H Market Animal --

Join guest presenters Jason Engel of Shamel Milling Company & JoAnne DePue of the Erie County 4-H Market Animal Program for a fun and interactive evening on how to successfully market your market animal.

We all know good marketing strategies & techniques lead to higher product demand and higher product demand leads to higher sale prices. What are the marketing strategies and techniques 4-H’ers can use to increase the sale prices of their market animals? Jason and JoAnne will cover the following strategies and techniques with potential bidders that will help members attain the highest sale price possible for their market animals:

  • Identifying potential bidders
  • Creating your personal animal project story
  • Developing a creative sales pitch
  • Writing an effective introductory letter
  • Making an impactful first impression
  • Maintaining an ongoing personal relationship

This will be a 2-evening program. During the first evening you will be learning/practicing strategies and techniques from Jason & JoAnne and be asked to do some homework. During the second evening you will receive constructive feedback on your homework and have the opportunity to make your sales pitch to a real potential bidder and receive constructive feedback from them.

Whether you are brand new to the 4-H market animal program or this is your third year, these evenings will give you the tools you need to successfully market your market animal.

RSVP to Jenn at jls669@cornell.edu no later than April 24th.
