4-H Let's Get Outdoors Day!

  • Saturday, May 19, 2018, 9:30 AM - 2:30 PM

Livingston and Seneca County 4-H Youth Development programs are collaborating to offer a new 4-H event to Finger Lakes area youth. It will feature hands-on learning at beautiful 4-H Camp Bristol Hills in Ontario County. Workshops will get kids excited to be outside, engaged in learning, and hopefully spark an interest they can carry through the summer months.

Attendees ages 8 and up will have the opportunity to complete a morning and/or an afternoon workshop. The workshops will be about two hours in length, starting with a short informational session that will be followed by hands-on activities. Workshops will include archery, outdoor cooking, outdoor survival, aquatic macro-invertebrates, and fairy houses. Some workshops may have a materials fee.

Cloverbud age youth will have a separate track with developmentally appropriate activities and games. Cloverbuds will experience nature walks, digging in the dirt, and taking an up close look at nature with magnifying glasses.

Participants are encouraged to bring a bagged lunch to enjoy at noon time as well as water in a refillable bottle.
