Certification Programs

National Child Passenger Safety Technician Certification

In this 32 hour course, CPS Technicians and Instructors put their knowledge to work through a variety of activities, including child safety seat checks where parents and caregivers receive education and hands-on assistance with the proper use of child restraint systems and safety belts.

Child Passenger Safety Technician Continuing Education

This training focuses on updates and challenges in child passenger safety for technicians. This continuing education class consists of an in-person session and is classified as a Category #1 CPS CEU worth 6 CEUs. This training will satisfy the requirement for the CEU portion of a recertification.

NOTE: Technicians will still need child safety seat sign offs by an instructor and a community event. These are not available at this training. Technicians are asked to bring their Technician Certification Card and Safe Kids user name and password. An opportunity to register CEUs will be provided at the end of the class.
